Because capital markets are effective discounters of widely known information, we believe one must either identify information not widely known, or interpret widely known information correctly and differently from others to add value. Fisher Investments' performance is attained through an active approach to portfolio management. We actively create and implement capital markets technology, find investment opportunities, and exploit them to broaden Fisher Investments performance opportunities while managing risk relative to a global benchmark.
Investment strategies are managed by the firm's three person Investment Policy Committee (IPC), which has combined investment experience of over 60 years. Fisher Investments performance data is compiled in compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®), and independently verified on an annual basis. If you are a qualified investor, please contact Fisher Investments at 1-800-851-8845 to request a Fisher Investments performance analysis for institutional strategies, including Global Total Return, Foreign Equity, U.S. Total Return, Small Cap Value, and Mid Cap Value.
The Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) are a set of standards established by the CFA Institute in 1999 for the presentation of investment performance information. The GIPS standards provide industry-wide standards for the ethical reporting of investment results to prospective clients. Visit www.gipsstandards.org for more information.
Performance Indexes
S&P 500: An index tracking the performance of the 500 stocks of the S&P 500. While not necessarily the 500 largest US companies, these are generally the 500 most widely held, making the S&P 500 a good proxy for US stock market performance.
MSCI EAFE Index: EAFE stands for Europe, Australasia, and the Far East. This index, constructed by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), tracks securities of 21 developed nations, not including the US or Canada, and is an excellent proxy for the performance of foreign stocks.
MSCI World Index: This index, also constructed by MSCI, tracks stocks performance in 23 developed nations. In essence, it’s the EAFE plus the US and Canada.
MSCI ACW Index: ACWI stands for All Country World Index. This index adds emerging nations to the developed nations, and is a good proxy for the entire globe’s equity capital markets.
